Hamilton Island- Honeymoon Part 2

Day 5 of our honeymoon saw us arrive at Hamilton Island. We got to the Reef View Hotel at about 10am, left our bags until we could check in, and went for a bit of a quick walk around. After an hour we thought we would head back and wait in the lobby at the hotel. While we were there we noticed they had a tour/dinner booking service so we went and had a look at the different things that we could do.

We decided to book ourselves a night on the Dennison Star, it was seafood night, and since we were on our honeymoon we decided to also pay the little bit extra to have our own private section on the boat. We decided to leave our Saturday night free because we couldn't get into the Yacht Club on Saturday night, so booked that one for Sunday night instead. We also had Qualia booked for lunch on Sunday thanks to a friends wedding present.

Once we got our keys we headed up to level 14 to our ocean view room. The view was absolutely stunning. We decided to order room service for lunch and sit on the beautiful balcony. Then it was time to get ready for the Dennison Star.

We boarded the boat at about 5pm. We were greeted with a cocktail and canapes on arrival. It was delicious. We sat on the back deck with the other guests on the boat. Once we were on our way, we decided to make our way to the front of the boat to watch the sunset, it was stunning. Before we knew it, our meals were being served, we had a cold seafood platter and a hot seafood platter including oysters, bugs and crab. It was absolutely delicious. We got some absolutely stunning photos, we were looked after so beautifully. I felt like a princess. The dessert was amazing, we got a selection of cakes to share, mars bar slice, cheesecake, my mouth is still watering just thinking about it.

Saturday on Hamilton Island was another beautiful day. We ordered room service again for breakfast, which was delicious, I would recommend it to everyone. We were up early as my hubby was off to play at Hamilton Island golf course. He says that he got a little concerned when he got on the shuttle boat and the 4 men on the boat had shopping bags full of golf balls, because of the amount they lost last time. He on the other hand only lost 7 balls, but told me how amazing it was, and how he spent most of the time looking at the amazing view. While he was having an amazing golf morning, I decided to head to the Hamilton Island Day Spa for a stunning 2 hour massage. Again I felt like I was a princess. looked after so beautifully. The staff were so professional, after my massage I was offered a green tea and time to relax, after about 2.5 hours at the location, I decided to walk back to the hotel and go for a swim in the pool while I waited for the hubby to come home.

The pool at the Reef View Hotel was gorgeous. They serve cocktails and meals on the water, which we decided to order some wedges for lunch, eat on the side of the pool and simply relax in the sun. We then decided it was time to do some sight seeing. We walked down to the buggy hire, and hired a buggy for 2 hours. In our time driving around the island we saw two weddings, a lot of wild life, some stunning views, we stopped up at One Tree Hill for their cocktail hour, it was beautiful sitting up there watching the sun set.

After we dropped the buggy back off, we headed back to the hotel to change for dinner. We hadn't decided where we wanted to go yet, but we ended up at the Pub for a Parma watching the footy on TV, it was one of the best parmas I have ever had, I am a sucker for a pub meal. After the meal we headed back to the ice creamery for dessert, stopped to watch one of the outdoor performances and then headed back to have a cocktail by the pool at the hotel.

Then it was Sunday, it was our last full day in paradise. I was excited because it was the day we got to go to Qualia for lunch! I had heard this was the most beautiful resort in Australia, and that my idol, Miranda Kerr holidays there. The Qualia team sent a shuttle to collect us, and off we headed, we were greeted and seated, it was a beautiful view, and when we arrived, we were the only people in the restaurant  Talk about exclusive! We decided to get the chicken wings and trio of dips for entree and the hot seafood platter and shared it between us, It was absolutely amazing. The meal was divine. We then had dessert and a cocktail, then it was time to go home, while we were waiting for our shuttle, one of the staff showed us the beach and told us a bit about what he does, and about the area.

I was so full, I think we both just layed down in the hotel and watched some football and netball on the TV, before we knew it we were having to get ready to head down to the yacht club, I wish that we were able to go at a different time because I simply was still so full from the Qualia meal, but the Yacht club does a fantastic meal, I had the chicken, and the hubby had the steak, we shared dessert and a bottle of wine and it was beautiful, The service was one of the best I had ever experienced. I recommend going there after having a light lunch to get the full experience.

Then it was the last night, we put our breakfast order on the door, and went to bed. So it was Monday morning and time to make the journey back home. We packed up our luggage, ate our breakfast on the balcony for the last time, and then went for a walk down to the Wildlife Park, we got our photo with the Koalas and met all the locals. Before we knew it, we were waiting for our shuttle to collect us and take us to the airport. I actually wanted to cry because I didn't want to go home. Hamilton Island and Airlie Beach had treated us so beautifully that they had found a place into my heart.

We boarded our plane to Sydney, we got the most amazing view of the islands on take off, once we got back to Sydney it was a little colder than what we had left a few hours earlier. We headed to the food court to get some lunch and then waited for our second flight to Melbourne, when we arrived home it was freezing! We did not want to be back in the cold! But hey the real married life had to start some time!

Honeymooning

Day 3 was a relatively quiet day on the honeymoon. Sleep in, walks around Airlie beach, breakfast, swimming the pool, so beautiful...

Day 4, we were back at the touring! Ocean Rafting! It was amazing!!! Jump on their facebook page and watch their videos! Definitely worth it, got to head out to the beautiful whitehaven beach! Was just beautiful!

Day 5, it was transfer day, time to leave Airlie and head to Hamilton Island!!!

Will fill you more in on that one next time. I am thinking I will keep blogging, I may not be getting married anymore, or planning a wedding. But I am hoping I can share my thoughts on married life and everything the future has to hold!

Few more pics for those who want to see :)

The day after...

The day after was a weird day, coming down from all of the excitement from the day before. It was a busy day too, running around collecting things from the reception venue, catching up with family, cleaning and tidying everything up after the wedding, of course opening presents and packing for the honeymoon. Our first day as husband and wife flew by, nearly as quickly as the day before...

Before I knew it, it was 5am and we were getting up to get ready to go on our honeymoon, I have never been more excited to get away and enjoy some quality time with my now husband. After the stress and tiredness associated with the wedding, I think I was actually looking forward to the honeymoon more than the wedding by the end.

We arrived at the airport, checked in, and headed off to get some brekky, we boarded our plane for Brisbane, it was empty! we pretty much has a whole section of the plane to ourselves, some time to just enjoy each others company. We then had a 4 hour stop over at Brisbane airport, a very long time, but we headed to the pub at the airport, watched some TV, Had a parma and a few drinks, then boarded our second plane of the day to Proserpine. From Proserpine airport, we were bussed into Airlie Beach.

Airlie was beautiful, its not like anywhere else I had seen before. It is the gateway to the whitsunday islands. Its absolutely stunning, full of restaurants, cafes, and beautiful dining places. We stayed at Waters Edge resort, the room was stunning, we got a champagne on arrival, the first night we stuck to our ritual signature dish and headed out for thai!

Day Two, we headed off on a Whitsundays cruise to the Great Barrier Reef, it was a 3 hour boat ride there and back, but its something I would reccommend to everyone!!! Cant wait to fill you in with more details and some photos soon xx

About 3:40pm March 23rd

It was time to roll. The part of the song was up where Dad and I started walking down the aisle! Off we went. I refused to let myself cry, even though I wanted too, I did tear up a little though. Before I knew it, I was at the alter standing next to my man and ready to go...

The story was told, our vows were said, and we were pronounced husband and wife! We signed the registry, everyone grabbed a drink and we did a cheers at the end of the ceremony and then proceeded to leave for photos. I got lots of horse shoes, and lots of photos were taken, lots of hugs and kisses along the way. We got to the end and waited for people to follow us through. It was great being able to see everyone. The time flies!!!

We were off taking photos and before we knew it we were being picked up to go to the reception, we got all the photos that we wanted as far as we know, ofcourse it takes a month or so before we see the professionals, but I have seen a number of friends and family snaps now...

Some ceremony sneak peeks below for you to take a look at, next time I will post about the reception xxx

March 23rd 2013

March 23rd 2013. It was the day that was never coming.... It was the day I had planned for 19 months, the day that there were blood, sweat and tears put into producing. They say an average person spends 100 hours planning their wedding, that sounds like a lot right? But I think I may have actually spent more time than that planning our wedding. And I must say I am so glad that I did because it all went perfectly!!! So much so, I wouldn't change a thing and I want to do it all again!!

The Night Before
The Night before was a fairly relaxed affair. The girls came over and we had a light tea, cold meat, salad and fruit, we sat down and watched bride wars, a bit of the football, black caviar do her thing, and then finished off the night by watching our deb DVD's. Laughing at each other, joking about the hair styles, remembering the people we hadnt seen in years. It felt like a fitting way to spend the night. It was about midnight when we decided to go to bed...not that I could sleep! I was too excited! The last time I checked the time it was 1:30, but I definitely woke up 3-4 times, and then awoke at 5am! I made myself stay in bed until 6am though trying to get some rest before the big day!

The Morning Of

My maid of honour was already up and at it by then, she had got together breakfast for all of us, which was pancakes, toast, yoghurt! I think I managed to eat about half of what I normally would out of anticipation! Then it was time to head off to the hairdressers!!!!

We were served with a beautiful welcome sign, champagne, and a food platter including strawberries, biscuits and chocolate!!!!

It began

We sat around for a little while, but then the photographer arrived and it was all systems go! Time to get ready, dressed the girls first, and then myself. Lots of photos!!! Then the flowers arrived, so more photos, a quick chat with the florist, and before we knew it the cars were there, a few more photos and time to go..

Sitting in the car on the 15 minute journey was so much fun, with my favourite 3 ladies, trying not to tear up too much. We got closer and closer and the excitement just kept building, it was astrange feeling though, it still felt like it wasn't today. Until we got there and "Without You" by Usher started to play. The girls started the walk and before I knew it, it was my turn to walk up the aisle.

To be continued.....

Friday 22 March 2013

Tomorrow is the day!

Thats right, tomorrow is finally March 23rd 2013, I can't believe the day is almost upon us. Its hard to describe how I am feeling today, very excited, a little nervous, a little scared and very tired. Even though I left as little as possible to the last week, its still tiring, people still ask you question after question, people still tell how they would have done things differently, the mental exhaustion is definitely apparent.

We started this morning nicely with getting pedicures and nails done, there is nothing that I like more than having nails, although it is making it hard to type this up today haha! Then the ladies came back to my place to try on their dresses so they all fit and look great, and i cant wait.

But now I am exhuasted, think I might have a shower and a lie down until 3pm, I am catching up with  friend and then its hair wash and tan times woohoo! I love being brown!!!

Anyways I am sure I will fill you all in next time xxx

Thursday 21 March 2013

2 days to go

So there are only two days to go! Today was a fairly busy day, and things were getting pretty crazy! Lots of questions for all directions and a few last minute purchases but hey whats a wedding without some last minute drama.

There was some confusion with our venue, I had called quite a few months ago to find out if they serve drinks as part of the venue hire if we provide the drinks, however apparently I misunderstood and they stated they wouldn't do that. So today I had some last minute plastic wine glasses purchasing, so at least that is taken care of now!

Last night was also the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. We got to run through the ceremony, everyone found out where they stand, we had a crack at walking up the aisle, and worked out where everyone will be sitting. After the rehearsal, one of my lovely bridesmaids had organised our dinner, she also organised some date nights for us. She got everyone at the dinner to write down what there idea of a date was for us to complete, there were some great ones, so we have them all to go through again once we are newlyweds.

I spent this afternoon putting some last minute things together, getting the dresses and everything together, making a few last minute payments, and then spent some time on my own relaxing, ran myself a bath and prepared my skin for tomorrows spray tan.

So tomorrow is the fun day! We start the morning with getting our nails done, I am really looking forward to it, I love getting my nails done, and I really enjoy just having time to sit around with my favorite girls. We have a little bit of time in the middle of the day, this should give us time to organise the girls bits and pieces and give them a chance to try their dresses on again. Then the girls will have some time to go home and do their own thing, Then I have a friend to catch up with at 3pm before heading off to get a spray tan and my hair blow waved. Then tomorrow night we are gonna have a small dinner and watch some girly movies.

I must say, I am already worrying a little about being apart from Daz for the night, I always struggle to sleep away from him. But lets face it, I probably won't sleep anyways!

2 days to go!!! woot woot!

Tuesday 19 March 2013

Just 4 sleeps to go

Ahhh its nearly here!!! The weather forecast is looking better, everything is confirmed and falling nicely in to place! Work is done, two weeks off now yippee!!!!

Tomorrow is the time for the fun to start, well after I clean the whole house, I can't concentrate without a clean house, and also for the photos, I want everything to look good. So the washing will be done, the house will be dusted and vaccummed and hopefully will be looking sparkling clean still come Saturday. Then I am going to do the shopping for the girls for tea, brekky and lunch for the wedding eve and wedding day, then its off for the fun to begin. The Rehearsal out at the venue! I am also paying the venue, the celebrant tomorrow to get that out of the way. I am also taking out the refreshments for the ceremony. Wine, Beers and Waters ready to go. Mum has the ceremony decorations which are only small, a couple of candles and the word "love" to sit on the signing table!!! After the rehearsal we are off for dinner and some catch up with the bridal party and our immediate family.

Thursday is time for a massage, I can tell you I need one already!!! Move all of the bits and pieces from my parents house to my house. Organise Taxis to pick everyone up from the venue and relax!!! I think Thursday night and afternoon I will just be hanging around, maybe confirming a few last minute things, but as far as I know most things are now sorted.

Friday is pamper day!!! It starts with getting mani's and pedis, we have a break in the middle of the day, not too sure what we will do, will probably get the girls to try on their dresses before they get their tans, then we have tans later in the day, then back to my place for dinner, movies and a sleep over!!!

How quick do you think Saturday is going to come? I think its absolutely going to fly!!!

4 days...eek!!! xoxox

Saturday 16 March 2013

One Week To Go....

7 days, its a figure that seems so small now. This time next week I will be at the salon getting my hair and make up down. I will already have enjoyed the rehearsal dinner with my family and the bridal party, everything will have been put into place at the venues, I will have had my massage, my nails done and my tans. So I am hoping by 11:30am next week I will be feeling like a princess.

The weather forecast has tipped slightly in my favour, forecast in the twenties with showers, showers I can handle, its rain that worries me! So now that nearly all plans and payments have been made, we have practiced our first dance, everyone know what they need to do on the day, its time to sit back, relax and joy my last 7 days as a Miss!

So whats the plans as my last weekend as a miss? I will be trying to relax and rest as much as possible, I am thinking a pamper day try on my dress, a hair treatment, do my nails, a facial, or though I do have to go into work for a little while. Tomorrow I am starting the day with brekky with a friend, then off to do some last minute wedding and honeymoon shopping.

Then there are only 2 days of work left, then I can enjoy Wednesday, Thursday, Friday putting everything into place! I cant wait for the next 7 days to play out!

Friday 15 March 2013

Please Don't Rain!

So as March 15th rolls around, we are only just over a week away from the big day! Its such a surreal feeling, all this planning, and all this time waiting, and waiting for a day that seems like it will never arrive, yet here we are, 8 days out from what will be one of the most special and memorable days of my life. I must say I am starting to get a little nervous about walking down the aisle with everyone staring at me! I have chosen a fairly upbeat song though so I am hoping that will help out with the nerves!

As for the planning, on the easy weddings checklist I am now 97% complete...whats left on the list?
  • Have your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner
  • Pack for honeymoon (which we have started but not finished)
  • Arrange refreshments and food for the bridal party (we have organised refreshments, still have to do the food)
  • Double check we have all accessories (I have them, they just need to be moved to where I will be getting ready)
  • Prepare Wedding Speech and Thank yous (We have written down who we would like to thank, but haven't written an actual speech yet)
  • Organize Cash for anything to pay on the day (Still a little early to do this one)
  • Check that all formal wear has arrived and is the right size (The boys are doing this on Thursday night)
  • Check that all wedding bills have been paid in full (most have now, we just have to pay for the suits, my tan and nails, DJ, Photobooth, Celibrant, DJ and ceremony venue).
So slowly but surely the plans are falling into place. The only thing that may have to be added to the list is call everyone and tell them we have moved venues due to rain! But with positive thinking I am hoping that won't happen. Lets just say this doesn't look good high chance of rain!!! But it doesnt seem likes itas going to be cold which is a plus! 23 degrees!!!
http://www.weatherzone.com.au/long-range-forecast/28-day-rain/vic/w-and-s-gippsland

So everyone please start doing whatever is opposite of a rain dance for me! I really picture myself being married in a garden!!!

Until next time xoxo

10 days to go...

Coming a long way away from the 500 days to go when I first started writing this blog, and in that very first blog, I wrote what I had accomplished in the last 500 days.... So what have I accomplished in the last 490 since then?

Well it was November 2011 when I first started posting. Lets look at my career first, I was working in advertising as a campaign manager, I had given notice at that job, because I hated it, I felt belittled, bullied and like I was being used. Working crazy hours, travelling to Melbourne everyday just to be abused, it really isn't worth it. So I got out of there and started at a new job in the same role, just as a contract though, then come January the offer to go back to my old job in food science came up, so I jumped at it, I was back to shift work, but in a job I loved and surrounded by amazing staff who are friends of mine. It was great. Unfortuantely when the full time opportunity came up there, I wasn't the right fit. But everything does happen for a reason, because now I work in Quality role, in a food company, in the town I live in! They have invested a lot of training into me, and I do really enjoy the job that I do, very different from this time a year ago. Not to say there hasn't been moments, but I am sure every job has those!

Lets look at the house, we had been in our home for a couple of months, we had done some painting and a few bits and pieces, but since then we have cleared the garden, pulled down a fence, painted the toilet, created a new room, pulled down sheds and made plans for what is next for the house, when we have the money of course.

Then its the wedding, its fair to say the whole wedding has been planned in the last 490 days, and it was the perfect amount of time, it gave me time to really investigate and research into what options we had, what prices we had, it gave us lots of time to save on things and pay off things like the honeymoon. Now we are only 10 days off the wedding, and I couldn't be more excited, I feel like everything has fallen into place perfectly, There isn't anything I can do to control the weather, so I might as well forget about even checking it. Everything is in place, we have the money to pay for everything, so its time to just sit back and relax!

I have also learnt a hell of a lot about myself in the past 490 days. I learnt that so many people will leave your life just as quickly as they came into it, and I finally had to learn within myself that not everyone is like me, not everyone cares how others feel, and in a way I also had to learn to be more selfish. Not just in regards to the wedding but with everything. If I dont want to do something, I dont have to do it, and I shouldn't be made guilty to feel this way. When this happened I used to go to people and try to fix things, or find out why, but now I say screw them, if people want to me immature, if people want to stop talking to me, then lets face it, Im not 15, why would I want to hang around people who act that way? And I don't and because of that I am happier. I will never again apologise for being me, doing the things that make me happy and being good at things even if it makes others jealous.

So its fair to say a lot has changed in the last year and a half, but I think every single thing that has happened has been for the best. But for now I am focused on getting through the next 10 days until I get to marry my best friend and celebrate with the people most important to me. Sometimes its nice to relfect back and see all of the challenges you faced, all of the good times and the bad because it all contributes to the person you are today. Make sure you are happy with being that person, and you aren't just being that way because you feel like you have to.

Til next time xoxo

11 days to go...

Well the count down is well and truly on now, actually it feels like the days are coming and going so quickly that I don't have any time to count at all!!

Well under two weeks to go, so pretty much if you have been organised then this is simply the confirming and paying part of the wedding planning, and lucky due to my slightly OCD personality, that is the stage I am at. We have now fully paid our photographer, our wedding cars, our decorations, the candy bar which was a DIY I have set up and taken a "mock" photo of, our honeymoon has been paid for, for quite some time now. We have a few big chunks to go though, namely paying for the reception, our ceremony venue, our celibrant, DJ, Photobooth and rehearsal dinner. But we very luckily have the money sorted now, phew!

There certainly were times in the past 19 months where I wondered how we were going to manage to pay for the wedding, I thought we were going to have to go into debt to pay for it, and even though it has made things very tight, and we did get approval for a loan, it turns out we haven't had to use it, well not yet anyways. Its been a massive effort and something I think we can both be proud of. Our parents helped a little of course too.

In saying that we did have a "relatively" small wedding budget and we managed to stick to it. Its a bit hard to imagine we have managed to get everything for $15k when I know others have paid upwards of $50k! One girl I know had an $80k wedding, seems a bit OTT for me though. So how did we do it?
  • Start early- it makes it a lot easier to shop around, recieve and compare quotes and see what you can get for your money.
  • The Dress- if the dress is important allow budget to ensure you can get. I only had a style in mind, not a designer so it made it a lot easier for me to find a cheaper version of what I was already looking at.
  • Keep it small- remember the less guests you invite the lower the cost. I also like to think it is more intimate this way. You might actually have the chance to talk to everyone.
  • Dont waste money on invites- most people throw them out anyways. Most quotes I got we $10 per invite, I ended up paying $4 which was great!
  • Photography, unless you feel you lack all creativity, don't get a wedding album for the extra $1500, spend $150 later once you have your images on disk and jump online to snapfish or something similiar and make your own. At least you will pick the photos you like the most!
  • Stick to your budget- if your dress ends up being $500 over budget, find somewhere else to cut $500 from, maybe it means cutting 5 people off the list, buying a cheaper bombiniere....

There are lots and lots of tips, and so many sites that will offer more than what I have stated above, but research is the key, look at as many blogs, as many magazines, as many websites and ask as many people as you can. It will definitely be worth it!!

I think I could have easily spent $50k if I hadnt shopped around!!!

Not long now!!!!

Friday 8 March 2013

15 days to go...

Wow time really does fly doesn't it? Only 15 days to go now. I think this time in 2 weeks I am going to be a nervous wreck, well anxious wreck. I always get anxious over big events. Have to remind myself to breath all the time. So thats something I am going to try and put in my head....

So two weeks out as a soon to be bride, whats been going on?

  • Confirmation of the flowers. On Wednesday I met with our florist. Discussed the exact flower colours, the arrangements, delivery times and when payment needs to be made.
  • Confirmation of the cake. Confirming the final numbers, delivery time, delivery location and making the payment.
  • Collection of the alcohol for the after ceremony drinks.
  • Confirmation of ceremony location dates and times for both the rehearsal dinner and for the wedding day. I have also confirmed that I will be bringing drinks out on the rehearsal dinner night to be served on the day and making the payment at that time.
  • Confirmation of hair, make-up, nails, tans, has all been set in stone. I have seen all bookings written in the books. I have also got each of my bridesmaids a $50 voucher to put towards their hair/make-up and tans because lets face it, it all adds up and I wanted to help them out, for all the help they have given me.
  • Buying of more jars from op shops...argh the DIY candy bar! Making sure you have enough jars is hard, especially when its still too early to measure out any lollies. I think I could start doing the jars that have lids though. I imagine the lollies will stay fresh for two weeks in a lolly jar. I still have to add ribbons to each jar, and take a photo of the set-up to make it easier for the family members setting up on the day.
  • Dropped off the engagement ring for a bath so its super shiny for the day! It is super weird not having it on my finger, I have replaced it with my old committment ring for the week that the fiance gave me back at our 2 year anniversary. So I'm not feeling too lost anymore.
  • Created a list of what needs to be set up at the ceremony and sent it through to our family members so everyone knows what needs to be done on the day. Hopefully making life easier for everyone.
  • Photographer has already been settled and confirmed, just have to make the final installment of his payment next week.
  • Still have to re-confirm the cars, times, pick up and drop off locations and make payment. I am hoping to do this next week at some stage.
  • We still have to burn our wedding CD and trial it for the ceremony.
  • We still need to organise for someone to return the suit hires on the Monday after the wedding
  • We need to practice our first dance!
  • We have to organise someone to collect the presents at the end of the reception
  • I have to contact the ushers at the reception and let them know what they need to do when they arrive at the golf club.
  • I need to complete the girls bridesmaids packs, and put everything together for them

So there is a lot going on, and still a lot to do! Next 14 days you are going to be busy!!!

Monday 4 March 2013

Nearly 5000 views

When I started writing this blog, I thought maybe by the time we get married I may have 1000 pageviews. but 5000 is mind blowing. Growing up I always had an interest in writing. I think it comes from my grandfather who was a sports journalist. This was one of the reasons I studied journalism at school. However in doing so I found how incredibly hard it is to break into the journalism field, so I ended up in Advertising instead. And not copy writing either, the behind the scenes uploading of advertising and running of campaigns. So to be writing something that people actually find interesting enough to come back and read is very humbling.

So it is now less than 3 weeks to the big day, so its full on organising now. I think everyone knows what they need to do on the day and where they need to be so thats a good thing. Nearly all of our services are confirmed. Some are even paid for!!! So the next couple weeks will be finishing that off as money comes in, and last minute details are finalised.

My reccomendations for getting through the next couple weeks would be:
  • Have a to do list and make sure you check everything off- I use www.easyweddings.com.au and find that it has guided me through every step of the way
  • Also have some form of budget, what the quote was, a deposit you have paid and what is still owing, again I love www.easyweddings.com.au
  • Ask questions! Dont feel like your suppliers are getting frustrated when you ask questions. They want you to have the perfect day, but try and put all questions to them at once to save continuous emails or phone calls. It helps with the stress.
  • Go for a long walk/run and do something not related to the wedding
  • Think about after the wedding, think about the honeymoon, what project you are going to take on once the wedding is over and done with
  • remember to thank people who are helping you! great for you and great for them!!!

Today I am trying to have a relatively wedding free day. Work, sports massage at lunch time, dinner and a run tonight, probably followed by some gossip girl! Try it! 19 days to go!!!

Friday 1 March 2013

its been 9 years in the making, and only 22 days to go.

Well this day 9 years ago, I was a fairly timid, fairly shy just turned 15 year old year 10 student. The now fiance had just started his VCE. I was a little scared to talk to now fiance that day, because lets face it, we both knew where things were headed but we will a little too scared to do anything about it. We had had a few texting conversations the weeks before saying how we didnt want to wreck our friendship and all that jazz. But on March 1st 2004 at about 9:30pm we started texting again. The now fiance sent me a text saying I really want you to be my girlfriend, and finally I managed to not freak out and said yes!

The next day was the most surreal day, I remember waking up and thinking I have a boyfriend! Walking to the bus stop I certainly had an extra spring in my step. I remember sitting on the bus with the biggest smile on my face. But then the nerves set in when the bus rolled into the bus loop at work, The now fiance was standing there waiting for me, I didn't know what to do, I went bright red and walked over to him. Said hello and gave him a hug, probably should have at least gone the kiss right? Ah well haha! Anyways the first few days were a bit awkward, mostly due to my shyness. But we got there, Hanging out with the now fiance and his friends at lunch time made me a much more out-going person, It gave me more confidence to make more friends, talk to people more and expand my horizons.

9 years has gone so fast from that day, and I don't regret any minute of it. Its not like we are perfect of course we have had ups and downs, but the thing that I pride myself on more than anything, even on a bad day, or a day we have had a disagreement, everynight we still said good night and i love you, every day for 9 years we have spoken and I wouldn't have it any other way. He is my best friend, he is the one that knows everything about me and he is the one who I know I can trust more than anyone else in that world! So in 22 days when we have a new anniversary to celebrate, I know it is going to be the best day of my life!

The last day of summer...

I always find the last day of Febrauary a sad day. It marks the end of my favourite season summer! I know everyone else is always complaining because its too hot...but not me, its the opposite I can't stand winter I freeze, I get frustrated because I am always cold, and because I have so many layers on that I can't move. It also means that my birthday has come and gone, and that I have to wait 11 months again haha!

However March 1st does have it ups, that is my and the fiances anniversary, and tomorrow marks our 9 years, and more excitedly (is that even a word? It is now!) the month that we are getting married!! Yes thats right only 24 days to go! And to be honest I am a bit of a stresser but I think I have kept things well together, but I am starting to get nervous! Not cold feet, I think its the anticipation building, anticipation for this day you plan and think about for months, and what if it goes wrong? Well I am hoping not too much can go wrong as the whole thing is pretty well organised now, but you never know! I am anxious by personality so it will be inetresting to see how I handle the next few weeks.

This weekend is my bridal shower, that one of my amazing bridesmaids has organised for me, I am really excited just to hang out with my favourite ladies, eat some food, have a few wines and just really relax. Really enjoy the quiet time because I don't think there will be a lot more of it until we are on our honeymoon.

At this stage it is also forecast to rain! grr!!! Not that I mind too much we have a back up plan, and you know I would marry darren soaking wet if I had too. Its just that I hate rain and cold! Also its not like you can trust the weather a week before a day let alone 3 and half! So everyone get fingers crossed for some more warm sunny days, I am thinking around 25 would be perfect haha!!!

Things are getting crazy!

Well first of all, apologies for being a little slack on the posting. I have been a bit unwell which has lead to me sitting on the couch most of last week becoming overly addicted to Gossip Girl, but hey I can certainly think of worse things to be addicted.

RSVP date has come and gone, so we now have official wedding numbers. Standing at 86! Pretty much exactly the number of people that I wanted to come so I am so so happy with that. With confirming numbers comes the crazy part! It means you have to confirm with the reception venue, it means you have to confirm with your decorator, it means you can actually work out which place cards you need and which ones you don't and then comes the hardest part of all....The Seating Arrangement.

The seating arrangement is something I have been working on for a few months now, adding a few tweaks here and there but now I think I have finally got it sorted, pretty much 9 tables of 9 people, excluding the bridal party. The tables comfortably sit 9, so that gives everyone a little bit of elbow room. But geez you have to know everything about everyone, does so and so like so and so, does this aunt get along with this uncle...well so I have been told. I hace decided that if people have these issues they can put them aside for 5 hours, and hey its not like you have to sit in your seat the whole time, get up and mingle people!!!

What else have I confirmed in the past week or so? The photography, the cake, the flowers, the music, the cars, all of the wedding timings, the bridesmaid dress that needed altering. It has been very busy. And I get the feeling like its only going to get busier from here on. Problem is my work seems to have got busy too....probably not the best timing for that to have happened.

This weekend it is Bridal Shower Time! I am so excited for this, I have invited my aunties, friends and my grandma, for what should be a fun day of sweets and playing some silly games. I am really looking forward to just having a little bit of time to relax and enjoy my friends and family before everything gets hectic.

Only 25 days to go!!!! It is getting ridiculously close now! No break down yet! But lets face it, it could still happen ;)

Tuesday 12 February 2013

Amazing what a run can do!

Well up until last night I hadn't been for a run since before jetting off to Queensland. And I think that was my problem. There is nothing I find more therapeutic than a 3km run, I love it, gives me time to think, burn that extra energy or maybe it's anxiety, and feel great at the same time. I also got home, put up 100 netball shots, and then did some weights. And today I am feeling 100% better about everything. The head is more clear and I feel like I am actually thinking straight.

Last night we took the bridesmaid dress to be altered, didn't need too much changes which is better than what I first expected. It does need to be taken up by an inch, but that should be farely easy, as well as that, she is putting in a few extra loops, and gave us a great tip on doing up the back.

We also got 4 RSVPs yesterday, so the crowd is starting to get there act together by the sounds of things, hopefully by this time next week there will be about 80% responded. But I guess I am just going to have to be patient and wait and see. I am really looking forward to confirming numbers with the venue and locking in a price.

Tonight we are hopefully going to pick a song out for our first dance, still haven't decided on what our first dance will be, a friend of mine got married on the weekend and did a surprise dance off, and I must say it looked pretty fun! However I don't think our bridal party will have the time to practice and rehearse something like that, we all seem to be running around like crazy people all the time.

As for today, I am also working with the florist to organise our flowers, so hopefully that can all be sorted by the end of the week, and still waiting to hear back from the photographer, but hopefully I will hear back from him today!

Lots on to keep this mind racing!

Monday 11 February 2013

50% There

Today we got half way with RSVPs, so hopefully the other 50% will show up in the next 2 weeks! I have a strong feeling I am going to be calling people and asking if they are coming or not, which really grinds my gears. But I guess I am just going to have to get over it, because you can't make people do things that they don't want to do.

I have slowly been confirming details this past week, and most things now have times and details set, except for the photographer and also the florist. I have emailed both and I am waiting to hear back some suitable times to catch up again with them.

I think most things we will pay by bank transfer before the big day. However with the photobooth, they only accept cash...now because I have been burned before, and because I don't want a friend placed in a sticky situation, I am going to draw up a little note and put on it "The photobooth payment to the price of $900 has been recieved in full" and ask the photobooth operator to sign it. Because cash is a difficult thing, how would you ever prove that you paid it? Bit OTT? maybe but I think its better to be safe than sorry!

Tonight we have the bridesmaid dress fittings for one of the bridesmaids, so it will be nice to have that over and done with, hopefully it will only take a week or two to alter and then that can be ticked off the list too.

Other than that its just more and more confirming to be done...

Firework

I've called this blog firework, because sometimes only a song can explain how you are feeling... For me Katy Perry's firework has always had a knack of being spot on with how I am feeling about things.

Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin, like a house of cards, one blow from caving in? Well this is pretty much how I feel at the moment, and I can't pinpoint why. I think partially its because I feel like I am being ignored by some of the people whose friendships I valued the most. I have text people about there invitations to the wedding and the shower, and have simply been ignored by them, and I just don't get it?

But then maybe I am being selfish to expect that people would have time for me. I'm really not sure. I guess its because I see my wedding day, as one of the biggest days of my life, and I thought my friends and family would be excited by it, and maybe they are? They are just too busy to put a bit of paper in the post, or send me a text message...

But I guess when the day comes around whether there is 30 people there or 90, they will be the people that i know to focus on from then on. I am going to make some changes too. Either by deleting my facebook page altogether, or starting again with only 50 friends on the page instead of 300 who probably couldnt care less "how I am feeling" or whatever the facebook status bar asks these days!

so anyways, its been good to get it off my chest, and hopefully I will start to feel brighter now thats its on paper.

Friday 8 February 2013

43 days to go

The count down is well and truly on now, let's see how many posts I can do between now and the big day. I will probably try and do a small one each day anyways...

So last night it was hair and make-up trials. Just me and one bridesmaid went, and it took about 2 hours which is a good amount of time I think, I was really happy with both the make-up and the hair, for both me and the bridesmaids and dont think I will make any changes for the day. I have booked in for a treatment and cut for next week so hopefully my hair will be fresh and happy for the wedding and feeling good to go. I have decided not to make any changes to my hair colour, because I dont wanna risk it haha!!

Today I have started to chase people for wedding and bridal shower RSVPs, so hopefully I will start to get some answers in the coming days...Still waiting on about 25 invitations to come back, equating to about 50 people for the wedding, and I think still waiting to hear from about 10 people for the shower. At risk of offending people, I actually dont know how its that hard to RSVP? I honestly just think its common courteousy, but maybe my values are different to others.

Anyways hopefully there will be some more people confirmed before I post next time :)

Thursday 7 February 2013

44 Days!!! Its next Month!!!

Wow, I really dont know where the time goes haha! Every day seems to just fly by with another 1000 things added to the list each time...well day haha!

The best thing at the moment is that because there are only 2 weeks left for people to get there RSVPs, I am getting like 2-3 every day! I love getting fun mail! So we invited 95 people total, so far we have 33 attending, 3 unable to attend, so not a bad ratio really. However still a lot more to come over the next couple of weeks! But the list is certainly looking better. I sent a few text messages off to people yesterday just reminding them to start thinking about sending them back, simply because I dont plan on giving them any more reminders...Im a bit ruthless when it comes to things like that.

So tonight is hair and make-up trials!!! I am crazy excited, I love having my hair and make-up done, even though its only a trial haha. I wish we could have organised a bit of a girls night for afterwards but Im way too short on cash at the moment :( At this stage, not even sure how I am going to pay for tea when I go out this weekend, let alone drinks :s

The girls have all tried on their bridesmaid dresses now with their shoes, two are all sweet, one we have to get altered so thats booked in and set for Monday, which is great, hopefully it will only need one alteration and be good to collect in a week or so, which will mean all is ready with the girls!

Yesterday I sent a couple of confirmation emails, waiting to hear back from the car people, the florist and the photographer but I am sure that will all come in the next few days!!!

Weddings are fun!!!

Tuesday 5 February 2013

47 days to go!

Well things are full steam ahead on the wedding planning front. I actually cant believe how close it all is now!!! February is going to go unbelievably fast, with so much on, and I am already exhausted, well should I say still? I got to bed early last night, fell straight to sleep, didnt wake up once, but even so, still tired!!!!

Where are we up to? and where do things go from here? I am getting all of the little things out of the way this week that I have been meaning to do for like the last 6 months. A trip to the doctor, to get my six monthly skin check done, even though I was meant to go in like August! Whoopsies! I also have an optometrist appointment, finally time to get myself some prescription sunnies! Thursday its time for hair and make-up trials, which I am super excited about! Can't wait to see how it's going to look. Also have one of the bridesmaids trying on their dress this week, hopefully with the shoes, it won't need any altering! Then on the weekend, I am going out for tea with the girls for my birthday, and Sunday, fiance and I are gonna spend some tiem together... even though we live together, it feels like I have barely seen him because we have both been so tired and busy, or you know, stuck interstate because of a cyclone.

By then it'll be Monday again! Another busy week, got two mystery shops to do, trying to get a little extra money to catch up on what was spent in queensland that wasnt budgeted for. I need to contact the photographer to organise a catch-up with him and go through all the wedding day times and information. I also am meeting for the venue decorator to see what we ordered, hopefully confirm numbers... if people ever RSVP that is! Also to see what size i need to make the seating chart up to, and ask any last minute questions. That weekend we also have our first netball practice match, and the fiance has his first golf tournament of the season. We also need to organise our ceremony music and get it to our celebrant, as well as buy the refreshments for ater the ceremony.

Once again, another week will come around, and for this week I have planned, to contact our MC my big brother, and give him all the ceremony details, organise someone to take back any hires after the wedding day, and organise people to make any payments on the wedding day as well, then there is another practice match for netball, and a trip off to Bendigo for the weekend for a cousins engagement party. This is also the RSVP due date, so I will be making a few calls I assume to see if people are coming or not...seriously why can't people just reply?

Then it will be the last week of February, and less than a month to the wedding! It makes me get butterflies just saying that. But this week I will be confirming the DJ and the song list, inlcuding songs for the entrance, first dance, bouquet toss etc. This week will also bring our 9th anniversary, another netball practice match and my bridal shower! Cant Wait!

Saturday 2 February 2013

Saturday

Well its Saturday and I am trying to star a fresh this week, after the most horrible week its time to move on and forget about everything thats happened the last few weeks. I may be out of pocket, I may still be tired. But there is no point harping on things that can not be changed.

I slept in this morning and I think that has already helped. Then I had lunch with a friend, was very relaxing, and got to see her super amazing wedding photos which was great! After lunch I feel like I see things more clearly.

When I woke up this morn I was feeling down in the dumps, I felt like I needed to make a change, but I didnt know what that change was to be, I wondered if I needed to call my old friend and try and work things out, as we havent spoken in a year, I thought do I need to just stay at home and eat chocolate, i thought a lot of things....

But now I feel like I can breath again, and I dont even know what changed things. I decided I don't need to call my old friend, because she would have called be had she wanted to catch up or speak to me, and friendships do not define who I am. What defines who I am is my values and my actions. I will also do what I think is best for everyone, I will always think of how my actions may affect others and I will always be there for other when they need.

So in saying that, As of tomorrow, blood type diet u are back! running 3km u are back! wedding planning u are back! In other words Stacey is back!!! :)

Friday 1 February 2013

Stripped

Ironic title for a blog I guess, but it pretty much sums up how I've felt since I've last posted.

Lets see, where does it start? Lets start with work. I really enjoy my job, but sometimes it gets a little overbearing. Since before christmas I had pretty much been doing 3 jobs as others were on holidays. Which means I have pretty much been exhausted from working 10-12 hour days. However the healthy diet was helping that, thats for sure.

Then there is the eBay problems. I sold a few things on eBay because I needed some money for my queensland holiday. But ofcourse, the item didnt arrive, the post cant do anything about it, so I am out of pocket the cost of the item, and the item, and then a day later, I got another message saying an item had been broken in the post. FRUSTRATING!!!.

Then comes along the holiday from hell! Well the first day was good haha! We headed off to Surfers Paradise for what we expected to be a warm beachy holiday, but that wasnt the case. Day one was a lot of fun with a visit to Q1 towers, a nice lunch on Cavill Ave, A look at the shopping strip, a trip around on a tour bus/boat, was a fun day!!! Day two, the rain and wind begun. Off we went to Dreamworld and White Water World Anyways, hardly any rides, cafes, attractions were open, we had to wear ponchos because it was freezing!!! Still managed to have some fun at the big brother house and watching the Tigers, they are the most amazing animals. Can do things that you could never imagine! We decided to head back after a couple hours because it was simply too cold, we went home, got changed and headed down the street to do our old time photos, and hard rock cafe for tea, my favourite place ever! I had the Aussie burger, seemed fitting since it was Australia Day! Then it was Day 3 and this is when shit got bad, we had already booked a night club tour for the night, but was unsure if it would go ahead. We decided to stay in for safety. We headed out to the clubs which was fun until we had to try and get home.

I have never been so scared, the wind, the rain was lashing, and I am simply not good with storms. I was happy to arrive back at the hotel and get ready for our early flight. But of course with my horrible luck, or ours, the airport was closed and the flight cancelled. With no real garuantee with being able to fly out for at least 3 days, we decided to hire a car and start the mammoth trek to Sydney. My friend had to drive the whole 12 hour trip as she was the one who had hired the car, it was so wet, windy and horrible, but she took the challenge. We ended up getting to Sydney airport at 10:15pm for our 10:10pm flight. Virgin were fantastic, because the flight had been delayed, they let us check in for our flight and told us to run to the boarding gate.

Yep you know it, we are sitting there waiting, the flight before us, also to Melbourne waiting too, when we get told their flight is going but ours cancelled because its passed there kurfew, this is something I dont particularly understand at an international airport? But I am guessing they reduce the number of flights over night? Im not sure... Virgin again were great, set us up with transfer to a lovely hotel, a 50$ voucher each for mini bar and room service, and a flight first thing in the morning. By the time the morning rolled around we were all so ready to be at home, We had to sit seperately but I dont think any of us cared, all we wanted was to get on that plane and have it take off, and thank god it did.

Anyways so we landed back in Melbourne, a day later than planned, collected our luggage and headed over to the bus shuttle for the car park. Yep you guessed it! More bad luck, I went to the pay station to pay, and the machine ate my ticket, a call to customer service meant I had to pay at the exit. frustrating!

So its fair to say it wasnt the best trip going around, thanks to some horrible weather and apparently poor timing, note to self, January isnt a good time to go to queensland!

The bucks night was also held over the weekend. I believe it was pretty successful, 7 holes of golf, a pub tour and back to the cricket rooms for whatever  boys do... however I found myself again extremely upset to find out the best man organised a stripper, he did this, even though my fiance asked him not too. What the best man wouldnt have known is how upset strippers make me, I try to be a confident person, and be happy with myself, but frankly I am never going to be the definition of sexy, or whatever. I dont have blonde hair, I dont have big boobs, I'm not toned all over, and im sure I am never going to be. So when you hear that your fiances best mate gets him a stripper, in my mind all I think is "well he obviosuly thinks im not good enough, and that my fiance needs something better than me" and you know what, maybe thats not the case, but it is how i feel. But I am starting to learn that in this world most people don't ever really care how you feel or how there actions can affect others.

So here I am, on my lunch break trying to get everything off my chest, in the hope that maybe I can get some sleep tonight. But I feel like I am at a cross roads in my life. This past week has been tough, its been a challenge, but I am still here on the other side. So its time to make some changes. I am just not sure what they are yet!

Anyways back to the wedding....We have about 25 of 90 RSVPs back now, we have met with the celebrant and organised the general flow of the ceremony, still gotta do flowers, music, cake, hair trials over the next couple of weeks. Also gotta organise for the dresses to be altered where needed.

so thats it, thats me, stripped.

Thursday 17 January 2013

Its coming quickly

So I know most of you have been reading my write about how long away the wedding is, and how long its taking to get here, now it feels like its full steam ahead! Every single day there is something I have to do, or consider for the wedding, its unreal! There is an email to read, a confirmation to be made, a question to be asked, a new thing that I havent remember to do it! I don't actually no how wedding planners aren't nervous wrecks, but I guess you would get pretty good at it with practice.

Anyways I haven't had the chance to check the letterbox for RSVPs today because my lunch time was filled with some family and friend stuff. Just been one of those days, but it is one of those days which makes me feel like I am a good person, because when people are in need they call on me to help them through, and thats something I have always valued in people, not just in myself. Although I am pretty excited to get home after work and check it out! I am hoping there might be 2 or 3 there again today!

Last night I spent organised the last harrah trip to queensland, working out who needs to pay what and all that, and because one of our freinds pulled out, we have ended up pretty badly out of pocket :( and now barely have any spending money for the trip...eek! Plan is to go shopping when we get there for some salads and essentials, but some alcohol and spend the time by the pool or on the beach, hopefully not spending to much money at all...its days like these where i start questioning if I should go back to the fish n chip shop just for a few more weeks?!?

As for wedding planning, I didnt do too much last night and today, I started looking into changing my name, so I thought I will start with a new email account, and nearly every version of my name was taken! Dam generic name, I have a quite unusual surname so I never had any problems when making email addresses before, so this was definitely new to me. I also started changing my name on a few insignificant things like Priceline Club Cards, and all those little places that don't really matter or need any proof!

Tonight I am going to list down all the questions I have for our suppliers, just to make sure I have covered everything before we have final meetings with them. Only 65 days! Cant believe it!!!

Wednesday 16 January 2013

Its getting real!!!

So its 2 months and 7 days to go, who can believe it? We have actually sent out invitations and now we have got the first stream of RSVPs back! 100% strike rate so far with everyone saying yes, everyone requesting a song, so I am pretty happy. I am an impatient person, so I hope that everyone else's come in pretty quickly, I am hoping at least half are back before the end of the month, Wishful thinking? Probably!

So whats on the wedding planning go this week? I am going to go through all the things I have booked and list any questions that I may have for them, so when we have meetings over the next few weeks I am completely prepared! Other than that I tried on my dress on the weekend just to make sure it still fits, and it does yippee! My weight loss is coming from my hips and legs so can't imagine that affecting my dress too much!

Two out of the three girls have got their bridesmaid shoes so its good to know they are ready and set to go! Will be good to have the hair and make up trials to see if we need to add any accessories just to dress things up a little bit.

Otherwise I think things are running pretty smoothly! Cant Wait!

Saturday 12 January 2013

10 weeks to go...

70 days to go today! So this time in 70 days me, my amazing bridesmaids and my mum and mother in law will all be at the hairdresser getting hair and make-up down! How Scary!!! Well and of course exciting too!!!  It sounds a bit strange considering I was a model, but the thought of walking down the aisle in front of all the people that are most important to me is a little bit scary, once the reception kicks in I think that will be the fun times!!!

So invites were sent yesterday morning, so I would expect that people will start receiving them Monday-Wednesday next week! Hopefully meaning that we will start to see some RSVP's back in the mail maybe by the end of next week! We have invited 94 guests at this stage! we are hoping to get around 80-90 people, but we have a few extra invites just incase a few more people than expected can't make it.

So whats on the go now? Well I am going to try my dress on again, I am going to start wearing my shoes around the house to make sure they are comfy. The girls are going to get their dresses altered. Other than that things are looking pretty good, we have some format for the ceremony and the reception now which is great. We have a list of photos that we want taken. ARGH!! I just cant wait to get RSVPs!

Only two weeks now until Queensland woohoo!!! Heading with my maid of honour and sister in law for some relaxation, some fun and some sun! Can not wait!!!

As for the diet still going well! sitting around the 68kg mark which is pretty amazing! It's been a while since my weight has been steadily in the 60s so I am happy about that. Even though my goal isn't to lose weight, I just want to tone, feel healthy and look healthy, but its all going well! If you haven't had a read check out the blood type diet, Im not saying stick to it, but maybe pick a couple of foods from each and just incorporate it into your daily life. you wont regret it :)

Thursday 10 January 2013

Week one down!!!

So as most of you would now know, The fiance and I started the blood type diet on January 2nd. So we have been doing this crazy strict diet for a week now, and I gotta tell you, I am felling better. I have lost 3kg, I have had more energy to exercise, do things around the house, cook, plan the wedding and write this blog! I feel like doing things on the weekend instead of sitting at home trying to rest. As for the fiance, he is down 4.5kg in the first week, he says he can notice the weight he has dropped already, and I must say I think he is looking pretty good! He has had more energy to push through the working day, playing more golf, and also doing more cooking and things around the house.

So what have I been eating (As A Type O blood)?
- Baby Spinach (and a lot of it)
- Cos Lettuce (and again a lot of it)
- Chicken Fillets
- Mussells
- Steak
- Sweat Potato
- Spelt Bread
- Buckwheat Pancakes with Rice Syrup and walnuts
- Banana's
- Apples
- Peaches
- Pears
- Plums

So it all pretty healthy and not too bad really. I am looking forward to the weekend though because there will be a few free pass meals. I am catching up with friends at the chocolate lounge for a hot choc, then off to a pub for another friends birthday tea, and then on Sunday we have the last of our christmas lunches for the fiances' side. So that will be a bit exciting to have some "not so good food"

I have also been exercising pretty much every day. I am also trying to do stretches every day. So what am I doing? If its crazy hot I am opting for a 2km walk, dont want to get dehydrated or burnt, if it's less than 30 then I am off on a 3.5km run, other than that I am usually at a 2 hour netball training, so fair to say I am not sitting around too often.

Otherwise where am I at with the wedding planning?
- Meeting with the florist next week to work out the wedding flowers
- Organising dress alterations for the bridesmaids, I am a little bit annoyed that with the price they paid, that they weren't made to size. Not much we can do now though, and I don't really want to make a big deal of it anyways.
- Only a few weeks until hair and make-up trials
- M.O.H bought me a mini paint brush so i can put a little water on our invites to close them, because licking 55 invites taste errr!!!
-I have started compiling a list of where I will need to change my name, and finding out what I need to do so
- I have set reminders in my phone to contact the celebrant, cake maker, photographer and cars if they dont follow me up when they have said they would.

So it's starting to get busy, but I think its going ok because of the new diet and exercise I have a lot more energy and a lot more patience!

Until next time :)

under 11 weeks

Where does the time go? I certainly don't know, last year literally seems to have flown by, i guess that's the beauty of being busy, but wow, this time last year we were getting excited because we were getting married the following year, our besties were getting married that year, its crazy! Now our best friends are married and we are next and only 11 weeks away...

Anyways good news today, the invites arrived! The spelling and wording is correct as I figured it would be! I am so excited to get them stamped up and ready to go, probably won't happen tonight with netball training, but should happen by the end of the week!!! woohoo, or maybe that's too early? to be honest I don't care, I am just excited to get it all going.

I also locked in our meeting with the florist which I am really excited about, can't wait to talk flowers and bouquets, I'm not really a flower person but it will be good to have a price, and the look locked in and ready to go!!!

Anyways the diet is still going well. I had a big win today, i had decided when i bought the local newspaper this arvo that i could also get myself a little treat, but once I got in there, i decided I didn't need it! So definitely starting to kick the sugar addiction and hopefully on the way to feeling healthier!

Failing at the dailys

OK so I am not so great at posting everyday am I? But I think I am definitely improving haha! Anyways so lets check in on the diet first. Its going pretty well, its very strict, but I still haven't had a stomach ache which is fantastic, I feel healthier, I feel more energized and I don't actually feel hungry. I also went for a 3km run last night which was fantastic, but I spent tonight relaxing in the pool with friends. I am also down to 68kg now so its proving effective in more ways than one.

As for the wedding, I am still awaiting the invitations to show up, but hopefully that will happen tomorrow. Cant wait to get them sent out now and start getting the RSVP's back!! Other than that nothing much currently happening on the wedding front, in another one of those lull periods where not much can be done!

So I better hit the hay been getting up early with my new routine! xx

78 days to go

Well I haven't done too well at blogging each day haha, but I have been a bit busy the last few days, being back at work, except for today, and also planning our meals being on this blood type diet seems like a full time job in itself.

Anyways blood type diet is actually going pretty well. I am definitely feeling better, I have also been exercising everyday which i think is helping too. I feel like I have more energy already, I feel like I am staying fuller for longer, and have lost 2kg in 4 days. Not that that's the plan, as my dress fits me perfectly, but with me, I tend to lose weight off my bottom half more than the top, so it shouldn't affect my dress size as I have a ball gown style dress anyway. The most important thing is that I haven't had any stomach aches which is amazing! Because I pretty much have a tummy ache all the time!

So back to the wedding, things are getting there, I feel pretty organised, just a few things to do here and there, and lots of things to do closer to the day. I have all of my wedding lingerie now, the honeymoon is all sorted and ready to go. My amazing bridesmaids have tried on their dresses, and look amazing!!! Probably all will need to be taken up once shoes are decided upon.

I have booked everything that needs to be booked, just still need to catch up with the florist but that shouldn't be anything too dramatic, also waiting on the celebrant to catch up with us regarding vows and ceremony style, but again we think we know what we want said and how we want things to be ran.

Anyways whats coming up for January for me? This weekend, I have the fun job of cleaning the house woohoo, probably spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool again like i did today, then we are off to a friends birthday dinner. Sunday  I have two options at the moment, going to a bridal expo with a friend or going to a linen party, so another busy day.
Monday means starting the working week, also netball and netball training is back after the christmas break, I am glad I have been running over the Christmas break because I think I might die the first one back. Also hopefully my wedding invitations will show up! Woohoo!!! Which means I will be addressing the RSVP envelopes, as everything else come printed, then stamping and posting. I think things will start to feel real after the invites go out.
The next weekend, if weather permits, I am hoping to get a group of friends together to head down to my brothers at ocean grove and hit the beach. Also hoping to meet the florist over this weeked, tthe next weekend I have another birthday party and a mission out with my favourite girls! Then the weekend after is Australia Day which means time to have fun, when we set off to Queensland for a long weekend and the boys bucks party!

So things are going along pretty smoothly but pretty dam quickly at the same time. In 78 days I will be Mrs Adams! I am so excited!!!

Happy New Year

Well 2012 is done and dusted. Wow that went quick didnt it? This time last year I had just got back from my brothers place at the beach and sat down to think about the potential of going back to Nat Foods to work and planning our wedding and honeymoon,

But as you would have it, times do change. I am now loving my job and super happy working in food science and quality. Still planning the wedding, which has been a great time, and the honeymoon is all sorted.

So as you know, some of my times in 2012 weren't always the brightest and I did have a few struggles, but I am going in to 2013 with a much stronger support team of amazing friends, a great family and as always an amazing fiance'.

So it's January...again woah! Less than 3 months to go to the big day now, so I hope to keep blogging daily from here on end. This month will be a busy one, have lots on every weekend is filled already I think, can't wait to have some time off work for Australia day and head to sunny queensland for a well earned break and last harrah.

So new years resolutions, there is a few this year. Changes I have been wanting to make for a while now:
  • Try the blood type diet. This is the new phase, but it does scientifically make sense, so I am interested to give it a go and see if I noticed feeling healthier.
  • Exercise every day, and by the end of the year be able to run 10km.
  • Plan a big trip to America for 2014.
  • Not eat KFC this year (huge toughy for me).
  • Look good everyday, no more rolling out of bed with 5 mins to get ready.
  • Eat breakfast everyday.
  • Forgive people no matter what
  • Make every opportunity to catch up with friends and family
  • Enjoy our wedding.
It's only 81 days away now! eeek!!!
